What if war were to come to us one day? / Tomáš Forró at Art Cafe

Tomáš Forró will present his Survival Guide at the Art Cafe on Thursday 29 October 2026.
What should we do when the world we are used to begins to change faster than we are prepared for? How can we find our bearings in times of uncertainty, and what can we do to ensure our own safety and that of those around us?
Writer and frontline reporter Tomáš Forró is coming to the Art Cafe as part of his social resilience tour to present his Survival Guide, “a practical guide to the world of modern threats and armed conflicts.”
Drawing on experiences from Ukraine and other places where war has become an everyday reality, we will discuss what might happen, how to prepare, and how to maintain a clear head and the ability to act in crisis situations. Not so that we are afraid, but so that we know more.
Because resilience does not begin only when a crisis strikes. It begins with awareness, preparedness and a society that can stick together.
“I’m not going to scare anyone; quite the opposite – I want to explain how we can protect ourselves against modern threats and crises, including war. And it won’t be about politics, so feel free to bring along friends with whom you might otherwise disagree on who’s a fascist and who’s a do-gooder,” says Tomáš.
Admission is free!
You can order the survival guide and, in doing so, support further activities aimed at building a more resilient Slovakia via the StartLab campaign:

Come along to find out more, ask questions and reflect with us. Because preparedness isn’t panic. It’s a way of retaining the ability to make decisions about your own life, even in uncertain times. You’ll be able to ask Tomáš your own questions, and he’ll try to answer them.
