Jan Smolík and Martin Geišberg

JAN SMOLÍK and MARTIN GEIŠBERG
We bring you a unique musical collaboration between two friends: a Czech and a Slovak bard, whose paths are set to cross once more for a brief moment. We’ll meet in the cosy attic space of the Art Cafe in Banská Štiavnica. They’ll be playing together as well as solo. We’re curious to see what surprises this collaboration will bring.
Jan Smolík
performs his songs across parks, forests, meadows and summer open-air cathedrals. He feels right at home in Slovakia, as evidenced by the hundreds of kilometres he has travelled across our countryside.
Come and sing along, or simply relax whilst enjoying the lyrics and melodies of this Czech bard from Karlovy Vary. His songs are not just about melodies. They are stories, experiences and emotions translated into music that speaks directly to the listener. Sometimes they soothe, sometimes they stir, but they always have something to say. He brings messages to the stage – simple yet profound words that spring from life and from quiet realisations.
Martin Geišberg
His songs appeal to all generations. The poetry of sounds and words, quiet humming and the loud singing out of feelings, but also humour and a sense of perspective. You can experience all this at a concert by this original artist, dramaturg, musician and lyricist.
Martin’s songs appeal to all generations. His music is full of poetry and ideas drawn from personal experiences and feelings.
