Rústir (Icelandic rock band from Reykjavík) at Art Cafe

RÚSTIR (Ruins) Rústir is an Icelandic rock band formed in 2022. The band consists of Ari Ingolfsson (guitar, vocals), Friðbjörn Hólm Ólafsson (bass) and Guðjón Ólafsson (drums). They are seasoned musicians – more middle-aged gentlemen than young lads – who have been involved in music for quite a few decades. Ari and Friðbjörn previously played together in the band Band of Reason, which released several albums. Drummer Guðjón joined Rústir in 2024. That same year, the band released three singles. Then, in May 2025, came their first full-length album, *Tækifæri*, featuring eleven original tracks. Rústir play fresh Icelandic rock with a variety of flavours and influences, yet they remain firmly rooted in familiar rock territory. Their music has energy, experience and a good dose of Nordic atmosphere. Come and hear them live on Saturday evening, 17 October 2026, at the Art Cafe loft.
