A meeting with the artist behind the reconstruction of Leonardo’s *The Last Supper*

A final opportunity to meet Stanislav Lajda, the creator of a unique reconstruction of Leonardo’s *The Last Supper*, and to uncover the secrets hidden behind one of the most famous works in the history of art. The Slovak Mining Museum invites schools and the general public to an exceptional event dedicated to one of the most famous works in the history of art – Leonardo’s The Last Supper. A personal talk with the academic painter Stanislav Lajda, the creator of the unique reconstruction of Leonardo’s The Last Supper, will take place at the Old Castle on Wednesday 15 October 2026 at 10.30 am. Visitors will have a final opportunity to meet the artist in person, listen to his account and gain an insight into the creation of the reconstruction, which offers a new perspective on Leonardo da Vinci’s famous work. The talk will be combined with a guided tour of the exhibition. Stanislav Lajda will explain to visitors how the reconstruction came about, what insights its creation has yielded, and what can still be gleaned from the work despite the centuries that have passed since its creation. The programme will also feature interesting facts and connections that are not usually found in history or art history textbooks. We look forward to seeing you there!
