Veneer + Blue Sundown / concert at Art Cafe

The band Veneer was founded by Pavol Hubinák and Daniel Bihány; they were later joined by singer Simona Danielová, who also gave the band its name. In 2017, Simona was replaced by Habbiel (Modré hory, Fat Kit). Their music blends dreamy guitar textures, synthesisers and subtle electronic elements with introspective vocals. They have several recordings to their name, most recently the single ‘Colourblind’, in which electronic production blends naturally with layers of guitar to create a distinctive, genre-defying sound. Habbiel’s lyrics oscillate between personal experiences and broader social themes. On 7 November 2026, they will be playing at our attic venue with support act Blue Sundown. In the late 1990s, Blue Sundown were a very active shoegaze and dream pop band from Trnava. Their performances are rare and unique. They returned to the scene at the end of 2024 and are preparing a new EP, with which they will also return to their roots (strongly influenced by British legends Slowdive, Ride and My Bloody Valentine). Their music is coming to life once more. Their live performances can be likened to tasting fine wine in a vineyard, bathed in the warm rays of the setting sun. These are moments to be savoured emotionally – unpredictable and unforgettable. Blue Sundown’s music brings back memories of lost loves, quiet hopes and dreams, and makes the world a better place.
